CAPT Scott Eseman, USN (Ret)

   A 1968 graduate of Louisiana Tech, CAPT Scott Eseman, USN (Ret), was designated a Naval Flight Officer upon completion of the E-2A ATDS Course at NAS Glynco, GA. His initial sea tour with VAW-122 included two Med deployments in USS Independence (CV-62). As a department head in VAW-121, he deployed in USS Eisenhower (CVN-69) to the Med and Indian Ocean. CAPT Eseman reported as VAW-127’s first Executive Officer in Feb 1984, and assumed command in July, 1985. VAW-127 deployed to the Med in USS Coral Sea (CV-43) and was heavily involved in the Gulf of Sidra operations in 1986.

   CAPT Eseman also had tours of duty as an ATDS instructor, Manpower Specialist at the Enlisted Personnel Management Center, CAEWW-12 Tactical Development & Evaluation Officer and Operations Officer, Combat Direction Center Officer on the staff of CTF-70/CTF-77/COMCARGRU Five, Nuclear Battlestaff Commander for CINLANT Airborne Command Post, and on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, before retiring in 1993. Since May of 1994, he has worked as a Contract Simulation Instructor (CSI) at VAW-120.
