Captain Edward D. Rosequist was born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. A graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology in 1980, Captain Rosequist received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a commission as an Ensign through the NROTC program. Upon completion of flight training at VT-86 at NAS Pensacola, Captain Rosequist was designated a Naval Flight Officer in September 1981. He was assigned to VA-42 as a student A-6E Bombardier/Navigator and upon completion, in June 1982, continued to VA-176 deployed aboard USS INDEPENDENCE (CV 62) in the Mediterranean Sea. Following two more deployments to the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean, Captain Rosequist was assigned to VA-42 in June 1985 as an instructor, training students in the A-6 aircraft. Captain Rosequist's next assignment took him to VAW-120 for training in the E-2C aircraft and then on to VAW-123 deploying aboard USS AMERICA (CV 66). He completed his Department Head tour after a North Atlantic and two Indian Ocean deployments, the second of which included Operation Desert Storm. Following his Department Head tour, Captain Rosequist was assigned as Airwing Operations Officer at CVW-1 for additional deployments to the North Atlantic and Indian Ocean aboard USS AMERICA. He was then assigned back to VAW-120, serving as Operations Officer and Executive Officer. Captain Rosequist reported to VAW-123 as the Executive Officer in June 1995 and assumed command of VAW-123 in October 1996. He turned over the squadron in December 1997 while deployed aboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and reported to Commander, Carrier Group FOUR. Captain Rosequist assumed command of VAW-120, the single site E-2/C-2 FRS/training squadron on 13 April 2000. Turning over the FRS in February of 2002, he was assigned duties as Operations Officer for Carrier Group FIVE, forward deployed aboard USS Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka, Japan. Captain Rosequist assumed command of Commander, Airborne Early Warning Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet on 24 April 2003. Captain Rosequist has over 4500 hours and 1000 arrested landings in the A-6E and E-2C aircraft. |
